Lesson 4

Lesson 4

To Teach, To Think & To Worry

Lesson Video:
Grammar - Reflexive
There is a term called reflexive that is used in language learning. In English, examples are "I help myself" or "he hurts himself."

In Yiddish this is more common than in English. The reflexive is used in some verbs in Yiddish but not in English such as in the exmaples below.

I worry (I worry myself) Ikh zorg zikh איך זארג זיך
I learn (I teach myself) Ikh lern zikh איך לערן זיך
In english you can say, "myself, himself, ourselves." In Yiddish, its easier. Just one word "ZIKH!"
